AirLogix Selected by HIP Health Plan of New York to Provide Asthma Disease Management Care (Dallas, TX - July 29, 2003) - Dallas-based AirLogix announced today it has signed an agreement with HIP Health Plan of New York to provide a comprehensive asthma disease management program for the health plan's 850,000+ members. Under the agreement, AirLogix will provide specialized asthma care services for HIP's Medicare, Medicaid and commercial members. The program begins August 1 and will include care for the plan's pediatric, and adult populations. The new HIP program is the fourth significant health plan agreement signed by AirLogix in the past year reflecting a continuing move by health plans to outsource effective respiratory disease management solutions. Other health plans signed on to the AirLogix program this past year include Michigan-based Great Lakes Health Plan, Parkland Community Health Plan in Dallas and CHA of Kentucky. "We are pleased to be partnering with the largest HMO in the New York metropolitan area for a comprehensive asthma care program," said Susan B. Riley, President of AirLogix. "HIP is committed to offering effective disease management programs to their members and we look forward to supporting their asthma population with care that will improve quality of life and reduce medical expenses." Under the program, AirLogix will provide patient intervention including telephonic, in-home care and education for HIP members diagnosed with asthma. As part of the agreement, AirLogix will provide dedicated system infrastructure, care management and operational resources to HIP. AirLogix implements its services through proprietary advanced system technology called AirWorx for member identification and stratification, enrollment, predictive modeling, risk assessment, data collection, and comprehensive administrative and outcome reporting services. The company's patient intervention incorporates national standards developed by The National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute (NHLBI) and the Global Initiative for Asthma (GINA). The AirLogix program focuses on self-care, prevention and intervention education support, quality of life improvements, and reducing complications which result in healthcare utilization. The program is designed to empower patients to successfully self-manage their respiratory disease along with the physician. About AirLogix |
