Great Lakes Health Plan Partners with DM Specialist AirLogix to Provide Respiratory Care Services (Dallas, TX - July 7, 2003) - AirLogix, the leading expert and resource for comprehensive respiratory disease management since 1994, announced they have signed an agreement to provide chronic respiratory disease management services to Michigan-based Great Lakes Health Plan (GLHP) members. Under the three year agreement, AirLogix will provide education and support for Great Lakes Health Plan members, based on jointly developed clinical practice guidelines from the Heart, Lung and Blood Institute, the World Health Organization 2003 and the Global Initiative for Chronic Obstructive Lung Disease (GOLD). The program was launched in early June. "We are pleased to be partnering with Great Lakes Health Plan on a comprehensive disease management program," said Susan B. Riley, President of AirLogix. "Our expert respiratory disease intervention and care capabilities will provide Great Lakes Health Plan with high quality and cost-effective solutions to support their high-risk COPD population." AirLogix will provide a dedicated system infrastructure, management and operational resources for GLHP members. The AirLogix respiratory program is tailored to meet the needs of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) members to provide better care and improved results for the individual member, ultimately leading to better overall respiratory health for the entire COPD population served. AirLogix will provide education and patient intervention including telephonic and in-home care for individuals suffering from COPD. AirLogix will implement the contracted services through proprietary advanced system technology called AirWorx for member identification and stratification, enrollment, predictive modeling, risk assessment, data collection, and comprehensive administrative and outcome reporting services.
