Parkland Community Health Plan Selects AirLogix to Provide Asthma Disease Management Care (Dallas, TX - May 28, 2003) - AirLogix, the pioneer and leader in respiratory disease management, announced today it has signed an agreement to provide a comprehensive asthma disease management program for Parkland Community Health Plan (PCHP). Under the three-year agreement, AirLogix will provide specialized asthma care services for PCHP's Medicaid and CHIP members including the pediatric, juvenile and adult populations. The program was launched in April and is rapidly enrolling members. "Years of hands-on clinical respiratory and disease management experience, combined with our sophisticated member management system, allows us to deliver a very integrated asthma care program for Parkland," said Susan B. Riley, President of AirLogix. AirLogix will provide dedicated system infrastructure, management and operational resources for Parkland. The AirLogix asthma program is tailored to meet the needs of Parkland to provide better care and improved results for the individual member, ultimately leading to better overall respiratory health for the entire asthma population served. AirLogix will provide education and patient intervention including phone and in-home care for individuals suffering from asthma. AirLogix will implement the contracted services through proprietary advanced system technology called AirWorx for member identification and stratification, enrollment, predictive modeling, risk assessment, data collection, and comprehensive administrative and outcome reporting services. Parkland selected AirLogix after an extensive evaluation process that included many disease management companies. "PCHP recognized that asthma was a major contributor to member morbidity and health care cost to the plan," said Dr. Barry Lachman, Medical Director at Parkland. "That conclusion led us to embark on a rigorous search for a qualified disease management company that could successfully manage our asthma program." "AirLogix has the right technical expertise, integrated systems and respiratory experience that we required for our asthma program," said Lachman. "They met our criteria for both quality of program and solid financial return." "We are pleased to be partnering with the managed Medicaid leader for the Dallas area," said Riley. "Our expert respiratory management capabilities will provide Parkland with high quality and cost-effective solutions to support their asthma population. AirLogix is thrilled to have an opportunity to serve the community in which we reside. What better place to make a positive impact on respiratory health than in our own backyard?"
